Is your tenant entitled to a replacement boiler?

Boilers, as I am sure you are aware, are a substantial item in every property. They provide the heating for the cold winter months and the hot water for when you need to do the washing up. But what if your rental property’s boiler requires increasing maintenance and up keep? Replacement parts can be quite expensive and full system replacement can really push the costs up.

At this present time, the Government are running an initiative for landlords to replace old and inefficient boilers in rented properties. This is being funded through the current Energy Efficiency Programme and the Green Deal.

Some private tenants and rental properties qualify for a replacement boiler free of charge, with no additional costs to the Landlords. Edison Ford, in conjunction with an approved green deal contractor, have already carried out boiler replacements at some of our managed properties and the results and feedback received from our tenants has been very positive. Some tenants have had a reduction of up to £15 per month on their gas bills.

The work will be funded through the above scheme, as long as the tenants and property qualify and all monies are accessed through the appointed Energy retailer.

If you would like Edison Ford to assess whether your tenants and property qualify, please contact Kimberley Hewer on 01454 316718 or by e-mail to kimh@edisonfordproperty.co.uk
